The group focused intensively on strengthening the well-being of children and families in Maine
A group of 12 Maine leaders recently completed the John T. Gorman Fellowship, a yearlong program strengthening their capacity to drive systems-level change for Maine children and families.
Since the program’s launch in 2015, five cohorts – now totaling 54 leaders from the nonprofit, advocacy, and government sectors – have completed the Fellowship. Receiving training in whole-family strategies, this fifth cohort of Fellows focused intensively on strengthening the well-being of children and families. While working among different populations, issues, and areas of the state, the latest Fellows aligned their efforts toward a shared “result” of all children in Maine being resilient and ready to succeed.

“The purpose of this Fellowship has always been supporting the ability of leaders to achieve ambitious goals beyond what is possible for one organization alone,” said John T. Gorman Foundation President & CEO Nicole Witherbee. “Over the last year, these 12 leaders have honed the skills needed to maximize and align strategies to improve outcomes for children and families on a statewide level. We’re grateful for their work and excited to see the impact they will have as they join the full Fellowship network.”
