2025 marked the third year of the John T. Gorman Foundation’s intensive focus on ensuring all Maine children are resilient and ready to succeed.
In a year shaped by uncertainty and shifting conditions, we responded to urgent needs while remaining committed to this ambitious goal by leaning into a two-generation (2Gen) approach to strengthen the well-being of children and their families. As our 2025 Progress Report reflects, it’s making a difference.
Inside this report, you’ll find:
- How the Foundation has directed its resources and assistance to support partners in implementing 2Gen strategies to support children and their caregivers simultaneously, while continuing to support critical stakeholder capacity and basic needs.
- How partners are strengthening supports for children and caregivers in key areas, building better systems, and testing approaches that could inform improved practice and policy;
- Emerging insights and recommendations as this work unfolds.
Thank you for your partnership, leadership, and continued engagement. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like more information or a hard copy of the report.
Warmly,
Nicole Witherbee
