The John T. Gorman Foundation is now accepting applications for the fifth cohort of its Fellowship Program. The deadline for applying is Friday, May 17, 2024.

The John T. Gorman Fellowship program is designed to build the individual and collective capacity of Maine leaders to drive measurable outcomes for children and their families. Through a yearlong program of leadership development, coaching, and peer support, the Fellowship strengthens the ability of leaders to impact systems change at a policy and practice level. Using whole-family strategies, Cohort 5 Fellows will work together to make a measurable contribution to a shared population-level result: “All Maine children are resilient and ready to succeed.”

Five two-day Forums will serve as the heart of the 2024-2025 Fellowship program. During these Forums, Fellows will be introduced to several key concepts and frameworks – including Results-based Leadership and Facilitation, Adaptive Leadership, Systems Thinking, Emergent Learning, and Whole Family practices. Through coaching and peer feedback, Fellows will be supported in applying these skills in their role, and across the internal and external work of their organization. The Foundation will cover all participant costs, including travel, lodging, meals, and materials.

Four cohorts – totaling 42 leaders from the nonprofit, advocacy, and government sectors – have completed the Fellowship so far. Go here to learn more about Fellowship alumni and their work.

Application Information
The John T. Gorman Fellowship seeks diverse applicants across sectors, systems, and communities for Cohort 5 of the Fellowship. Successful applicants will share the Foundation’s commitment to supporting the resilience and success of Maine children and their families; have the support of their organization to incorporate the work of the Fellowship into their role; hold influence, responsibility, and trust within and outside their organization; and are committed to continuing their work on an organizational and systems level in the future.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, May 17, 2024. The documents below should be reviewed carefully before applying.

If you have questions or need support or assistance at any point in the application process, please contact Jennifer Beck, Vice President, Programs, jbeck@jtgfoundation.org.
