JB is Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Portland Global Advisors, a wealth management firm serving high-net-worth families and individuals. A native of Freeport, Maine, JB graduated from Amherst College in 1987. Prior to founding Portland Global Advisors in 1994, JB was a Proprietary Trader at Lehman Brothers and Bankers Trust Company in New York.
JB is a former Trustee of the Maine Community Foundation and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. He currently serves on the Investment Committee of the Maine Community Foundation and has been a member of the John T. Gorman Foundation Investment Committee since 2012.
