Governor Cuomo announced in his recent State of the State address that he intends to mandate that internet providers provide high-speed internet to low-income families in New York state at a capped price of $15/month. Although access to internet service has increased, Cuomo notes that it is not truly accessible if it is not affordable throughout the state. His plan would also create a fund to cover the $15/month cost for any households that could not afford that rate. #covid-19
