Low-wage essential workers have fewer COVID-19 protections and less information

Researchers at UMass Amherst found that low-wage essential workers in western Massachusetts in late April were more likely to be working in unsafe conditions and/or receiving insufficient protections. They found that, compared to high-wage workers, low-wage workers were 2 to 3 times more likely to lack simple protections such as access to masks, hand sanitizer, hand-washing opportunities, or training on safe practices to minimize COVID-19 transmission. #covid-19 #workforce
