Five big policy ideas to address the racial wealth gap and support young adults

Forbes reports on a set of policy ideas to address the racial wealth gap that were developed by the Experts of Color Network—a group of leading scholars, advocates, practitioners, government officials, and philanthropists of color. Two of the policy ideas specifically focus on dismantling barriers that African Americans have faced in building wealth. These include funneling more capital to Black-owned businesses and paying reparations to descendants of enslaved people. The other three big ideas would more broadly support anyone in the United States—especially young adults and older youth—struggling to build financial assets, and include Baby Bonds for everyone, incentives for emergency savings, and forgiveness of $10,000 of federal student debt per person. #racialequity
