Charley Martin-Berry

Associate Director
Community Caring Collaborative

In her role as Associate Director of the Community Caring Collaborative (CCC), Charley assists in leading this 40 partner collaboration working to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations in Washington County. She leads the design and funding efforts for a post-secondary family life skills educational opportunity for parents, called Family Futures Downeast as well as the Hope Fund, a financial resource for CCC partners working with families and young children.

Charley first joined the CCC in 2008, as the coordinator and lead teacher for the Passages high school diploma program for young parents, developed by Wayfinder Schools and offered at the time through the Cobscook Community Learning Center.  In 2011, Charley became part of the CCC’s Council, the advisory and policy-making group for the collaborative. She joined the CCC staff in 2012.  She also currently serves on the Boards of Axiom Education and Training Center and Child and Family Opportunities.

Prior to coming to CCC, Charley worked in non-profit organizations in fundraising and administrative positions in the Blue Hill area before returning to Washington County with her family. Charley graduated from Washington Academy and the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in Anthropology and Women’s Studies. While at UMO, she spent three years coordinating a weekly support and activist group for adolescent girls in the greater Bangor area.
