UPDATE: COVID-19 Outbreak

To John T. Gorman Foundation partners, grantees, and community,

The outbreak of COVID-19 in Maine makes this an exceptionally difficult time for our state’s nonprofit organizations and the people they serve. To continue supporting them, the John T. Gorman Foundation remains committed to maintaining its operations. However, to protect the safety of our staff and public, all Foundation staff will be performing their duties from home. Our staff continues to be available and can be reached by email or by calling the Foundation’s main phone line—(207) 518-6784.

The Foundation is also making some programmatic changes out of consideration for the shifting needs and capacities of our partner organizations.

  • We are extending the application period of our 2020 Direct Services Grant Program by three weeks. The new deadline is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15.
  • For current grantees, we are offering extra flexibility on certain grant requirements and reporting. Please reach out to the Foundation staffer managing your grant if we can do anything to assist your organization.
  • In the coming weeks, as the impact of the situation becomes clearer, we will provide more information on how the Foundation plans to assist those most in need.

In the face of this outbreak, the Foundation is extremely grateful to the many organizations who are stepping up to ensure that vulnerable Mainers continue to be served. We wish you all health and safety during this trying time.
